It's Autumn and Time to Seed

Before

This is the perfect time of year to over-seed your Bermuda lawn with Rye for that evergreen look, or your fescue lawn with fescue seed for a lawn that will thrive through the summer heat.

Start by mowing your existing lawn very low, spread your desired seed @ 15# per 1000 square feet, and fertilizer at 5# per 1000 square feet. Top dress any bare or weak areas with Manalfa Compost Blend for small areas or fine screen Gailardia Blend for large areas, approximately ½” deep.

After

Water daily for 2 weeks, then dry the lawn and mow it as you would normally, and repeat the seed application. Water at least three times a week. In Oklahoma, the typical seeding window is September 15 through October 15 for the first seeding.
